I’ve been online for quite a time now, and in my wandering on the internet I’ve came across many blogs that claim to teach you how to make money, how to do this and the other, but one thing amazes me, and that is the fact that a large number of those bloggers don’t even make a dime from their blogs.

How could this be? Could this mean that because they’ve dedicated their whole life to teaching others they are unable to earn a living for themselves from their blogs? It’s either they are not doing the right thing or they are not doing the right things right. But to be factual, I’ve looked into some things that could sum up to them not making money from their blogs in this article.

Lack Of Focus Leads To No Money

Focus is a gift, and if you posses it as a blogger you’ll easily make money from your blog. One of the major reasons a lot of bloggers don’t make money from their blogs is because they lack focus. One who has focus will find it difficult to deviate from what he or she is doing.

When I was to start my acronis true image coupon and Norton antivirus code blog, I knew I needed to be focused in what I do if I wanted to become successful. You have to be focused if you are going to become successful as a blogger.

They Lack Originality = No Money

Another thing that will stop a blogger from making decent money from his blog is when such a blogger is trying to imitate others. You don’t do what you do because others are doing it. You do it because you love it, because you find passion in doing it.

It is one thing to see and admire a successful blogger in your niche, while it’s a different thing entirely to imitate that blogger because he is successful. Sure, you can implement the style of other bloggers but you can’t be them.

No one will pay you to do what somebody else can do better. How can you imitate someone and perform better than him at it?

They Are Reaching The Wrong Audience

Reaching the wrong audience could also affect your blogging career and hinder you from making money from your blog. Know your audience, know who they are and make sure they are not the wrong audience for your blog.

How could you attract the wrong audience to your blog? The blogs you comment and guest post on can attract visitors to your blog and guest posting and commenting on blogs outside your niche can help you attract the wrong audience.

Promoting The Wrong Products Means No Money

One other thing that can hinder you from making money from your blog is promoting the wrong products. All you need to do to be able to make money from your blog is get the right products to the right audience. Marketing the wrong product to the right audience won’t help you make money and marketing the wrong product to the wrong audience will only complicate issues.

Market your blog to the right audience, give them what they want – articles that solve their problems and touch their needs – and then market the right product to them, you’d see that you’ll be able to make money from your blog.

In addition, here are some tips if you want to make money from your blog.

There’s a saying: “Those who can’t do, teach!”
To stay at the top you have to adapt to changes and constantly improve. If you get stuck in the past, others will overtake you and you will be left wondering why you are no longer successful.

Originality is a big problem. I read a lot of blogs each day and the sad truth is, 80% of them frequently copy or in best cases rewrite content from other sources. And not just any content, but info that’s already been rewritten hundreds of times. That just makes the article boring and leaves you with a feeling of deja-vu.

I’ve seen a lot of people copy-paste articles from other blogs and run it through copyscape dodget which ends up having articles with context and spelling mistakes.
The second reason is “buying” twitter followers and Facebook likes. It’s just a waste of money. Laziness is definitely something that you’ve got to beat if you
    actually want to earn something.

    Hi John!
I actually just commented in a blog, about me checking my traffic stats too often..LOL

From algo updates many times, there are a lot of things that I learn from my own blogs..

One of them, is the wrong audience, big traffic does not mean having right audience, and indeed, this will not increase my income..sigh..

However learning from my own mistake, I promise myself to move on and keep on doing what it has to be done..

    Thanks

Actually even the top bloggers don’t make much money from their blog, (I mean from selling ads, affiliate products, adsense etc) most of them make a lot of money because they use their blog to promote their services, products or business in general. So the best way to make money from a blog is actually to build a business and use your blog as a vehicle to establish your self as an expert on your field and as a result gain the trust of your audience and sell your products or services…

You are correct man. Targeting the wrong audience won’t get you any money.

You will make more money if you promote affiliate products to targeted people who are really interested in what you have to say or sell to them. A great way to get targeted audience is by making your article optimized for search engine traffic.

Great tips and thanks for the guest post.

Well said, targeting the wrong audience and in fact no visitors may be the reason of no income from the blog. All you have to do is to prepare strategy before hand even before the start of blog itself. Proper planning and its execution can help you to make some decent money from those blogs.

I’m so glad you elaborated on how to attract/appeal to the wrong audience on your blog – it’s really easy to do when scrambling for readers.

You are right. Just like I said, going to comment on other blogs outside your niche will get you more readers that are not important to your blog and in the end, you’ll find it difficult to make money.
