We live in a fast moving world.

And as bloggers, we are living in a more faster blogging world.

When it comes to blogging, you have to make sure that your blog loads fast.

If you want to be classed as a pro blogger then your blog should be moving at a great speed when it comes to loading a page.

Your blog will even have more success when it is fast.

Here are some reasons why you should have a fast loading blog.

[box type=”spacer”]First Impression Is Always The Best[/box]

Lets say that you have done a great guest post so that you can bring in some traffic back to your blog through that guest post.

The readers from that blog enjoyed reading what you have written for that blog. They want to know more about you or get more great blogging tips from you.

Readers have decided to click on the links that you have left in your guest post to visit your blog.

They sit at their computers and after 1 minute and a few seconds, your blog finally loads.

How do you think that these first time visitors will feel?

What sort of impression do you think is placed on these first time visitors?

Not a good first impression!

Some of these first time visitors might not even wait for your blog to load, they might even leave. So right there and then you start to lose traffic to your blog.

The faster your blog loads then the more traffic you will have on your blog.

[box type=”spacer”]You Will Lose Out On Affiliate Sales[/box]

The faster your blog is, then the more sales you will make through affiliate marketing.

True?

Yes!

Along with great content, a blog that loads faster has more chances of making affiliate sales.

If your blog loads faster and you have some great affiliate products that you are marketing then your blog visitors may take more notice of your affiliate links and even purchase through your affiliate links.

The faster your blog loads, the more traffic to your blog and the longer they will stay as well. This also gives more chances you have of getting more clicks to your affiliate links and making sales.

[box type=”spacer”]You Get More Readers To Your Articles[/box]

When your blog loads fast, you will realize that you get more readers to your articles.

Blogging is not only about making money, its also about educating through publishing of articles on the niche that the blog is in.

So in order for your blog readers to gain some knowledge on what you have written, then they need to get faster access to your articles.

If your blog takes longer to load then how much knowledge will your blog readers get?

Not much.

They might get fed up with your blog’s slow loading time and get information from another blog.

The more readership that you have on your blog then the more comments you will be getting as well.

[box type=”spacer”]Helps To Improve Your Search Engine Ranking[/box]

If you optimize your blog for search engine results and your blog is hardly getting any traffic from search engines, it may be because your blog is slow.

If your blog loads slow then chances are that search engine robots have a hard time crawling your blog as well.

People who visit your blog is not the only ones who have to wait on your blog to load, robots from search engines have to wait as well.

The slower your blog, the longer the search engine bots takes to crawl your blog and then the longer it will take to get your blog or your articles indexed.

The faster your blog then the better your blog to get crawled regularly and then your blog or articles will be indexed faster.

[box type=”yellow”]Tips On How To Make Your Blog Load Faster[/box]

Here are some awesome tips on how to make your blog load faster.

  • Install a cache plugin on your blog (This will help to decrease the loading time of your blog when a cache plugin is installed)
  • Install plugins which are more important to your blog (The more plugin you install then the slower your blog becomes)
  • Remove unused plugins (If you don’t use a plugin anymore then remove it from your blog completely. Keeping inactive plugins as well helps to slow down your blog)
  • Avoid using a lot of javascript or flash (Javascript from ad networks or social media buttons will slow down your blog, again only use the most important ones)
  • Pay for your own hosting (Free hostings are normally slow. If you want your blog to be faster then use a popular host such as Hostgator.com)
  • Host your own images (If you link to images from other sites, chances are that your blog will load slow as well, because it would have to requesting the image from another site)
  • Don’t have too much images on one page and also decrease the size of your images (Having too much images on one pages can cause your page to load very slowly)
  • Optimize and repair your blog’s database regularly (Your blog’s database can get corrupted and bloated which can make your blog slow or inactive. Optimizing and repairing every now and then will do the trick)

[box]In Conclusion…[/box]

A faster loading blog always has more success, of course this goes along with great content.

So if you have top quality contents on your blog, then be sure to make your blog fast, because this is another trick to becoming a successful blogger.

I agree with you completely, I could state like a 100 reasons why we need to have a blog that loads fast. First impression is certainly the best impression, not only for user but Google also takes load speed into consideration.

Picture loading is a good tip!

When I first started out about 8 years ago I was shrinking pictures with HTML to fit my post/article, however I did not realize at the time the full size picture was still being loaded, even if the reader did not see it.

Someone gave me the tip to make a thumbnail size picture AND a full size one that opens in a separate page. Another tip (if Blogger is used) was to remove the s320 in the picture URL (if hosted in Blogger) and replace this with s1600. This allowed a full size picture when clicked on to enlarge.

If I want a video on a page, I now often take a picture as a preview and now open the link in a separate page/window; this greatly increases page loading speed, especially if the page has several videos

I totally agree with you that waiting for loading a blog is frustrating. Moreover, with fast loading we can get more readers. That’s important part which some bloggers forget, as they just want money through blogging.
Well I am really happy that you have highlighted these pin points.

    Hi,

Well if some one visits our blog for first time, then the first thing they look for is sites speed and design. If they are feeling any thing bit slow then they might close the website. So its recommended to use a some Maxcdn service to make our images load fastly.

    thanks

      Hey Kuldeep,

How could I forget about MaxCDN. Content Delivery Network is a great thing for websites and blogs to help it load faster.

Related posts plugins can also make your blog slow down. I would say If you can use .gif instead of .png or .jpg, providing you don’t lose to much quality in the image.

    • Reply

      Hey Simmeon,

I didn’t know that related posts plugin can slow down your blog.

I use it on my blog and I still have a good loading speed. Related posts plugin will also help to keep your blog visitors a bit longer on your blog as well.

With the images I try my best to make them small in size so that they don’t take up much time to load.

      Thanks for the comment pal.

Agreed, our blog must be fast and the article should be loaded easily and we have to make an easy navigation which users can easily go through our older posts.

      Hey Rajkumar,

I agree with your point pal.

Fast navigation system on a blog is what is needed to keep our blog readers on our blog some more. Also displaying related posts under each post can do the trick as well.

No doubt Kharim, simply removing unused plugins or themes for that matter will increase page load time. I love your angle regarding first impressions, I could not agree more that it is EVERYTHING! Great to see you are consistent and active.

    • Reply

      Hey Bryan,

Yep! How could I forget about removing unused themes as well.

The less junk on our blog that is unused then the faster the blog will load.

I am going to be even more active in this blogging. I am tired of being at the back of this blogging world. Time to step forward.

      Thanks for the comment pal.

    Good tips Kharim.

A few mindful changes makes all the difference. Simply clean up shop and you can prosper on your blog.

I cleaned up old plug ins the other day. I minimize plug in usage actually, employing a few key ones and leaving the others behind.

This helps me add more bells and whistles which appeal to my audience.

    Thanks for sharing buddy.

      Hey Ryan,

I agree with you pal. Taking out plugins that you don’t really using is the key thing.

Makes no sense to have the plugin active if its not being used by you or your blog readers.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Avoid using a lot of javascript or flash – anyone who wants a fast loading site should consider this point. Most of the noobs, always play with their CSS sheets, without knowing much of it, they end up ruining their site speed.

Using too many images also can hurt your blog loading time, it’s always a smart idea to optimize them before using or simply by using the plugins like smush it, you can better optimize them.

At the end of the day.. you absolutely need a FASTER site. Otherwise… your readers are gone! Great points Kharim 🙂

    • Reply

      Hey Rahul Kuntala,

The smush it plugin is really great for optimizing images for a blog so as to not weight it down.

Yes messing up the CSS can cause the blog to load slow as well and at times give the site some sort of error.

      Thanks for the points bro.
