Bloggers and webmasters who have a low traffic coming to their blog would do lots of things to build up their traffic. Especially some of the new bloggers these days.

When a blog or website has high traffic then it goes to show the level of success that this person has had in building up their site. Lots of traffic to a site can also mean the person is earning money from his/her site as well. That is a dream that many of us have as bloggers and webmasters, to have a site with high traffic and making money from it.

I would do lots of things to have such success, but here are 4 things that I would never do to get traffic to my blog.

I Would Never Spam

Spamming!!! When you see or hear the word spam, what comes to your mind?

Annoying is the word that comes to my mind. I hate getting spammed!

This is one of the worst category to fall in if you are trying get traffic to your blog.

Lots of persons participate in blog commenting, forum posting and also share their links on social media sites to get traffic. These places are a source for spammers.

I myself would never do such things to get traffic to my blog. It is always best to post original and up-building blog comments, participate in forum discussions not just for posting links and also network with others on social media rather than spamming links.

Spamming is annoying and anyone classed as a spammer, then that blog will find it hard to survive.

I Would Never Steal Content

Why did you create a blog or website in the first place if being a content stealer is your job?

Lots of people steal content thinking that a good content from another site will help to pull in more readers or traffic to their site.

Truth is, you may get a little traffic. The question is: but for how long?

Stealing content from another site is basically copying and pasting. What fun is that? None at all!

It is always best to be original and write your own content.

Come up with new ideas for a blog post. Try something different. Write on what you already know. Doing these will help you to write your own content rather than steal.

I Would Never Hack Another Blog

computer hackerI have a blog and I would never love to see it go down by hackers.

That is the reason why I would never want to hack a pro-blogger’s blog and place links on it back to my blog to get traffic.

That would be so sad.

I have seen some website gone down by hackers and this is not fun at all.

Hackers are criminals and thus I would never ever want to do that.

I rather build traffic to my blog using search engines.

I Would Never Use Robots

There are some persons who use robots to build up their blog or to increase their Alexa rank.

Note, these aren’t real persons. So why use robots as traffic from your blog? How will this benefit you?

Robots aren’t real persons and they won’t benefit our blogs.

If you have Google Adsense on your blog then using robots will only cause you to get banned. Google Adsense doesn’t accept impressions from robots which may help to increase earnings. So I would not recommend this.

Robots can’t make blog comments and they can’t benefit from the articles that you have written.

So using robots as traffic is a no-no for me.

In Conclusion…

There are other stuff which I won’t do to get traffic to my blog. But these are the 4 things that I wanted to share with you that I would never do to get traffic to my blog.

What would you never do to get traffic to your blog?

You nailed it. These are the black hat SEO techniques used by some marketer just to get traffic and rank however they are now eliminated by system algorithm because they only spam the search engines.

Hi, Kharim! Another thing bloggers shouldn’t do is not download too many plugins that are supposed to make their life easier. Before installing new plugins in their websites they should make sure not to interfere with other applications.

Great list. If you want quality, none of these underhand tactics will pay off in the long run, in fact, they can have the opposite effect! Keep posting quality content, frequently, and you’ll see your followers grow steadily. I got so excited the other day to see my first search engine hits (new blog). Best wishes and have a blessed Easter!

To get traffic to your blog is not an easy task.Getting traffic to th eblog i sessentiel for the success of a blog.Blogging is one of the tasks that we should be careful in doing so.”Blog” is an abbreviated version of “weblog,” which is a term used to describe web sites that maintain an ongoing chronicle of information. A blog features diary-type commentary and links to articles on other Web sites, usually presented as a list of entries in reverse chronological order.

People are so desperate for traffic that they will do any and everything to get readers. However, if they get that right training and research the different means of bringing folks in, then they wouldn’t have to do unscrupulous things.
My biggest hang up is those horrible spammers that have no pity on us and flood our comment boxes with junk.

    • Reply

      Hey Reesa,

You are so right about that. It is always best to build up traffic the right and proper way.

Spammers pest my blog as well, but I guess this is something that we all have to deal with as bloggers.

      Thanks for the comment.

I never knew that there were bloggers who hacked other blog sites just to get more traffic. That can be quite alarming. Thanks for sharing these details with us, much appreciated.

      Hey Vianney,

I totally agree with you. Well the more popular sites are targeted by hackers. I know people will want to hack those type of blogs to redirect traffic back to another site. So this is why I mentioned this in my post.

      Thanks for the comment.

Then again Alexa ranks doesn’t really count for much, do they? I agreed with you that we should always strive to write great content-this is by far the most natural way and best way to get traffic. Returning ones especially. 🙂

    • Reply

      Hey Tekkaus,

Well Alexa rank does count, depending on what you really want to use it for. If you are selling ads on your blog then the lower your Alexa rank is then the better for you.

Writing your best content ever for your blog is the way to go. This will help to boost blogging success more.

      Thanks for the comment.

      Hey James,

You are so right about that.

No that’s not spamming. But then again it depends on how often you post/share on these social media sites. Posting too much can be classed as spam.

Theft of content (plagiarism) is my biggest complaint.
I have spent 1000s of hours in research for my many aquarium and pond articles, not to mention the last 34 years of hands on professional experience with an aquarium maintenance company only to have many of these articles plagiarized.
What I have noticed, at least in my niche of blogging, it that while unique in depth content might be great link bait for some, it often does not result in links to my content, rather theft of this content.
I also have to respectfully disagree with the other comment about Google’s algorithm, as it is on Google, not Bing, Yahoo or Blekko that I find my stolen content coming up in search or being used for Adsense.
I only use Google for searching for such content, otherwise I mostly use Bing or Blekko

      Hey Carl,

      I feel your pain man.

I got an email some time ago from this person who wanted to take an entire article of mine and paste it on his blog and linked back to my blog. I told him straight up no. That would still be stealing.

Just linking to the article would be fine, but do not steal my article.

Thanks for the comment and also sharing your experience with us.

If anyone do these 4 things he will lose readers’ trust and Search Engine’s rank.
So it always better to be GOOD. And Doing Good is the best SEO strategy.

      Hi Istiak,

I have found that being honest is the best technique I can use. Right up front, tell people what you’re trying to accomplish and what you’re willing to sacrifice to accomplish it. Many years ago, i use to work for a company that use to spam people through email marketing and i left that company because it doesn’t seem legit to me. I hate spamming people and i hate to get spammed. That’s why i am very alert when it comes to buying products online.

        Hey Alex,

I strongly agree with you as well. Honesty is the best policy.

You can never go wrong with blogging if you are honest.

Spamming as well can be the most annoying thing to do to a person. It is like going up to the person and pushing things in their faces.

        Thanks for the comment pal.

    • Reply

      Hello Ayobami,

That is a really good question. What I would suggest is that you listen to the radio or watch the entertainment television stations and get updates from them.

You can write blog posts on the latest news that you have heard.

What you can also do is to read other blogs and rephrase the news in your own words. Don’t copy.

      Thanks for the comment.

At one point I thought you were a spammer at my blog because some of your comments were short and seem to be the same comments, so I had to delete them.

When leaving comments its best to comment based on what the article is saying so to get your comments approved.

Yep, I also hate that type of guest bloggers.

Spamming is never good SEO, whether it is on Twitter, or any social networking sites. You may get away with it for awhile, but Google and other search engines will find you.

I’m totally against content plagiarism – I don’t know how people can steal other people’s content and publish it on their blogs but i don’t need to worry about it all because I love Google Algorithm!!
