Every blogger wants to be successful, we all want to be an A-list, we want to have a high traffic blog and most importantly, many of us want to make a large amount of money blogging.

Blogging success might have various definitions to many people, to me it might be high traffic, to you it might be the amount you made and to others, it can be the type of community and interaction you have around your blog. Any one of it you want, the steps below will help you achieve blogging success.

1. Personality

It is very important to be personal on your blog, you should have an about page and you should let the real you reflect in your blog posts. Take for example, you know Darren Rowse and Bran Clark, it is because they are personal. Assuming all Darren Rowse calls himself on his blog is “Admin”, or just a nickname, do you think he will be that popular? Your blog posts can go viral at any time, people want to know who wrote the post, they want to know that successful you.
Being personal does not mean you will let people know your street address, house address and the likes, all you have to do is have a detailed about page with 1 or two pictures of yours.

2. Reader Priority

In order to be a successful blogger, you have to put your readers into consideration. You should not just load the heck out of your website with ads from different providers; you should try to look at it in both sides i.e. at the user side and at your own side.

Blogging is more than just money, blogging can be used to build your credibility, establish yourself as an authority and also connect with many other people from all over the world who you might easily go back to anytime in the future. Don’t just think of today, think of tomorrow. Don’t because of the money you will make by loading your blog with advertisements forget about tomorrow. Will too much adverts make you lose readers? Think about this first. Your readers are very important to you because without them you can never achieve anything we call blogging success.

3. Interaction

There are many popular bloggers, they do envy young bloggers because if they visit the blogs of some young bloggers they will find 50 comments but you can hardly find 10 comments on any of their latest posts. You cannot eat your cake and have it. You should be able to build a community around your blog by interacting with your readers. I sometimes wonder what is wrong when I send a mail to a blogger and he is yet to reply me for over a month. Is he God? You should not have an excuse for not interacting on your blog. If I read your blog regularly, I had something I would like to contact you about, I sent you the first and second mail and still I couldn’t get your reply, it is very simple, I will forget that blog. Try to reply to every comments that needs one, try to address your readers problem, this gives them a feeling of importance and will make sure they don’t forget you.

4. Patience

We all have heard it, not once nor twice that success does not come overnight. Patience is very important to blogging success; in fact, patience is a hidden treasure that people rarely have. Truly you are working, but there is a time-frame for everything. Wait patiently and you will reap the rewards.

5. Value

It is very important to give your readers regularly updated valuable content. I hardly become a regular reader of sites I found through search engines but there have been exceptions of some sites that have great-valuable content, their content will always make you thirst for more. If you are giving great value that can never be found elsewhere on your blog your readers will always be uncomfortable when they miss your blog posts and they will even be happier anytime they refer their friends to your blog. Content is king and content will always be the king. Write great content that can be referred to years and years to come, you will be glad you did.
