A lot of people are starting blog everyday and this will continue for a long time to come.

People start blog for a hobby, for a business or just because everybody is doing it. But is blogging for you? How do you know if blogging is for you?

Well, I have been blogging for the past 3 months now and I know that blogging was meant for me by my level of success and what I have achieved so far. I started this blog to educate others about webmastering and how to be successful at it.

I have been in webmaster world for over 4 years now where I used to make websites and I know how to drive traffic to a site, how to build an audience, how to write unique content, and how to make money online.

In this blog post I will discuss 3 factors to know of blogging is for you.

Choosing The Right Niche

If you have choosen the right niche to start a blog then you know that blogging is for you.

I don’t think you should start a blog if you have knowledge about a particular niche, you should wait until you have accurate knowledge about this niche and then you start your blog. This way you will deliver unique and quality content to your blog readers.

The niche that you have choosen will determine the future of your blog and where it will take you.

Writing Great Posts

Writing blog posts is the main thing about blogging. If you don’t write blog posts then blogging is not for you.

If you write blog posts on a regular basis then you have no problem being a blogger. But in order to deliver great content to your blog readers then you have to develop good writing technique.

You know you have written a good blog post when your blog readers have read the entire article and leave a comment. Depending on the type of comment they leave and what they write about in that comment makes you as the author know if the post you have written is good enough to satisfy your readers.

Money, Money and Money.

If you think blogging is all about making money then your are so wrong.

I have been getting emails from new and interesting people who want to start a blog, and the first thing they say is that they want to start a blog to make money online. This is the first and worst mistake of starting a blog. You should blog because you are passionate about it and because this is something that you love to do.

As I stated in a previous post, if you are eager to make money then you will make little or not money at all. Don’t you think that if making money online was as easy as picking leaves off a tree, wouldn’t everybody be blogging?
Money does not grow on tree in this blogging world, at least not where I come from.

In Conclusion…

As I mentioned above, don’t start a blog until you have accurate knowledge about your niche.

Blogging isn’t all about making money online.

If you don’t write unique blog posts, how will you attract readers? Remember, readers are the ones that help you make money online.

I started a blog because people were asking me a lot of questions on websites, how to get traffic, how to use different social media platforms and info on blogging. So my journey began that way and I LOVE it, and have found it therapeutic.

I started blogging as a hobby because I love to share ideas and opinions with other people before I realize it could be a potential for making money online. And then I started into building niche sites until today. And to be honest, it’s amazing!

I agree with your points on guest posts and people who tend to ‘make money in too easy way’. Every success needs effort and same thing goes for blogging. Some mates asked me about this too and I answered – don’t do if you got no passion or you’ll suffer in the end!

Thanks Nasrul Hanis for your input.

If you don’t focus on making money then you have time to work on getting traffic, writing great articles, be a better blogger, network and socialize, and many more.

Really great article, Kharim. Liked where you said making money online is not like picking leaves of a tree :).

I also agree with you that you must have enough knowledge about the niche you would be writing about and also I think you should be passionate about the niche you would be writing about.

      Thanks :).

Base on my experience, choosing the right niche is a must if we want success in blogging. The niche become our core — a determinant of blog success.

Great post. Wow only 3 months and your page rank is a 2! My blog is 3 months young and I am still at a PR0 — I want to learn a lot from you! You are doing very well and you are a great writer.

I have lots of sites… lots of irons in the fire. Sometimes, not enough focus. I love building niche sites and I love helping people build sites for their business! I know I am doing the right thing because I love what I am doing.

Thanks for the comment Heather Plude.

I have had a PR2 since the first month. Why not put your focus on one site first and then launch out to the others at a later date?

If you want to learn from me then stay connected to me as I am working on another site to give personal help and assistance to other bloggers 🙂

      Hey Kharim,

I like that you mention about niche because that seems to be the hardest part for me. Also, the money part – yeah, you have to be in it for more than money, at least in the beginning.

      Good thoughts!

      Have a great night!

        Thanks for the comment Mark.

Choosing the right niche is the most important thing when you are going to start a blog. Then you have to work on it to your fullest. I have achieved a lot in the first 3 months online and still going great, why is that? Because I have not started thinking about the money as yet. I wanna place my Alexa rank in the 100k and then I start my marketing 🙂

For me I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. I don’t have to wait to be discovered and have someone discover my work. I can write to my heart’s content and publish wherever O chose.. AND, if I add value to my visitor’s experience, I make money, too.

Ahhh, does it get any better than that? 🙂

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it.

If you like arcade games then I guess you should stick to that niche. You do better at what you love.

Keep up your good work 🙂
