I have been thinking about ways to increasing a blog’s stats. This is really simple and very easy to do. I will be providing some tips below on how you can improve your blog statistics.
Improving your blog traffic
1) Comment on bigger blogs in your niche
Making comments on other blogs in your niche can generate up to over 200+ unique visitors daily, depending on the blog’s traffic.
2) Use Twitter
Twitter has millions of users on daily and some of those users can be used as traffic for your blog. Encourage people to follow you by placing your twitter link on your blog.
3) YouTube.com
This is another great way of driving traffic to your blog. Make tutorial videos. People are always searching for “How to…” So making a video and placing your site in the description can get you more traffic.
4) Facebook Fan Page/ Group
Facebook is another site where millions of members flock to. Making a Facebook fan page or group, suggesting it to your friend and ask them to suggest it to their friends as well. Facebook also has a search for pages or groups so your page or group will bound to show to some of these millions of members online.
5) Submit your site to directories
Their are Many Directories Free and Paid. This will not get much traffic but it helps to increase Google ranking.
Improving your blog comments
1) Give a Dofollow link
Give your readers some page rank by providing ‘dofollow’ links on your comments. This will encourage them to leave a comment for page ranks.
2) Use CommentLuv Plugin
You can advertise their most recent articles from their blogs with the WordPress CommentLuv plugin.
3) Reward your commentators
Give rewards to your top commentators. Use the top commentators plugin on your WordPress blog
4) Avoid Signups
It’s easier to make comments on blogs that you don’t have to sign up. Why sign up to make a comment? No sign up = more commets.
5) Faster moderation
If you want better response from commenters than try to moderate there comments as fast as possible and If you are moderating comments only once in two or three days, the readers may hesitate to get engaged next time.
Increasing your blog RSS subscribers
1) Write unique Content.
Readers like to subscribe to a blog that has great contents. If your content is not appealing then you will get little or no subscribers.
2) Don’t turn off your subscribers
If you flood your subscribers inbox, or whatever they subscribe by, then they will un-subscribe from your rss feed.
3) Submit to Feed Directories
Many people use feed directories to find new RSS feeds and content to subscribe to. You can submit your rss feed link to some directories and watch your subscribers grow over time.
4) Encourage Readers to subscribe
I have made a subscribe box on my side bar where visitors can see clarely and subscribe easily via a reader or email. I also place a box after each post, so subscription can be easily made after reading a post.
5) Your RSS Icon
Use great and appealing images to capture your audience attention. Use big icons rather than a small one. Downloads my rss icon package.

I have a hard time getting traffic from the bigger blogs but a lot of people have been posting links to my site in forums because the content was useful for them.
I have not done any videos lately but I still get a lot of traffic from youtube.

Well in order to get traffic, you have to be 1 of the first person to make a comment on a recent post. This way your comment shows up first with your name as a link to your site. It’s great that other users are posting your links for you. YouTube is a great way for generating traffic especially with tutorial videos.

Blog traffic can be analysed by viewing the traffic statistics found in the blog server log file, an automatically generated list of all the pages served. A hit is generated when any file is served. The page itself is considered a file, but images are also files, thus a page with 5 images could generate 6 hits (the 5 images and the page itself). A page view is generated when a visitor requests any page within the web site – a visitor will always generate at least one page view (the main page) but could generate many more.
