You can get traffic to your blog by participating in guest posting on other blogs in your niche. But you can gain lots more traffic if you guest post on a blog that is high in traffic or if it has more traffic than your blog, which is also in your niche. Guest posting has been very popular these days and it continues to gain more popularity because it is one of the easiest ways to build backlinks, get loyal blog readers, subscribers, get comments on your blog posts and also to get other bloggers to guest post on your blog.

Getting traffic from guest post is one of the many reasons why bloggers choose to do guest blogging. Not all guest bloggers know how to milk the traffic that they deserve from the guest post that they contributed, but I will show you how to get more traffic.

In this post I will show you how you can get double or more traffic from your guest blogging article.

Give It Your Best Write-Up

When you are going to write a blog post to submit to another blog as a guest post, make sure you write in a manner which shows that you are a blogger who knows what he/she is doing. The article that you are going to write should be well written in paragraphs with sub-heading separating the main points of the article and to also write in proper English.

If your guest post has no “taste” to it then the blog owner will reject your post. Also if that post is published and te blog readers hardly leave comments on it, then you know that your guest post wasn’t appealing. To avoid these guest blogging mistakes, choose a topic that you know about and will pull in more readers, use eye-catching headlines to entice your readers, proof read your own article and don’t rush to submit your guest post make sure you fully complete it. Another vital key is to do a thorough research so that you can put together the best words combined with information which will satisfy your readers needs.

I notice that many new bloggers are eager to participate in guest blogging and they think of it as writing for another blog, which in fact they are writing for another blog, and when they do this they tend to submit the worst post as guest post. If you want to gain lots of traffic from your guest article make sure you write as if you were writing for your own blog.

So without proper write-up on your guest article then you won’t get the traffic that you deserve.

Promote Your Guest Post

You want as much people to as possible to see your guest post, right? Yes you do, and one of the best ways to do this is by means of promotion. There are many ways you can promote your guest post.

How and where to promote guest post:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • BlogEngage
  • Blokube
  • StumbleUpon
  • Digg
  • Delicious
  • BizSugar
  • SERPd
  • …and all the other social media and social bookmarking sites.

You can also create a page on your blog called My Guest Posts in which you have a link to all the guest posts that you have written.

Without proper promotion of your article it is more than likely that not everyone will get to see it and leave a comment. But if you do promote it and the blog owner notices that you are doing this, then the blog owner will welcome you to guest post on the blog again.

    Reply To Your Comments

This is the ultimate way of getting great targeted traffic to your blog, by replying to comments left on your guest post. Blog commenting is an easy way to build backlinks and drive traffic to your blog.

Make sure that you reply to every comment left on your article and don’t just say thank you, leave comments that will strike a conversation. Each time you do this you are creating a backlinks back to your blog. Not only that, most blogs are using the CommentLuv plugin, so when replying to comments you can get to choose to advertise one of your latest 10 articles so that you can gain more traffic.

Whenever you reply to comments it is default that the person that you are replying to will get an email saying that you have replied to their comment. When this happens your blog URL and the CommentLuv link will also be sent in the email. So even if the person doesn’t come back to read your reply, an email will be sent so you can still get the traffic that you deserve.

You can even go further by visiting the commentator’s blog and leave a few comment if your schedule allows you to and then you will get more traffic through your blog comments.

    Own The Top Commentators List

When replying to comments left on your guest post, you now have the opportunity to become one of the top commentators if the blog has a top commentators widget displayed on the blog. This plugin/widget is a way of thanking the commentators by giving a link back to their blog. So the more comments you have and when you reply to them, then the higher you will be on the top commentators list.

Being on the top commentators list can be a great thing, because sometimes the blog owner gives the links do-follow which will be giving your blog some good juice.

Leave Links In Article And Bio

Normally each blog owners give the guest blogger privilege of placing links in their guest post. This is also a great way to get some traffic back to your blog.

Tip #1: Link to related articles on your blog.
If a reader took interest in your guest post and you neatly tie in a link which is related to what you have written, then you will have traffic to that related article as well by those who liked your guest post.

Tip #2: Don’t spam your guest post.
Even though you would like to place lots of links to other articles on your blog, it’s best not to spam your guest post with links. Only link to about one or two articles that are related to what you wrote.

You can also leave a link back to your blog in the author bio which would point back to your blog. If your guest post was really great then the readers will want to know more about the author of that post and will want to check out your blog.

What I normally do is provide a link back to my blog and a link to my RSS Feed so as to gain more subscribers. You can try that as well and get more traffic and readers to your blog.

Many bloggers these days are guest posting and I’ve noticed that this technique is very effective to get traffic. I’m sure the tips you’ve laid down for bloggers specially the new ones will benefit a lot, Kharim. Blogging is serious and bloggers should keep in mind that there are readers like me who cultivated the habit of reading because of blogs and e-books, I was never an avid reader before but today I’ve become one and the credit goes to all real bloggers who knows what a strong content is.

I think guest posting is kind of like when you write an article and submit to article site. If you want your article to show up on search engine, you want to do keyword research and build backlinks to it. That also the same thing with guest blogging. However, guest blog owners get more benefits because with the increasing in traffic, he can increase his revenue while you get more exposure. So that’s a win-win solution 🙂

Yes that’s true. Writing an article and submitting it on other blogs so that people can get to read it. This will increase your traffic by far if you do it multiple of times on different blog higher than yours

As for me, I just do the basic… promote the blog post using the social media sites. And yeah, interacting with the commentors is another great way to build relationship with the prospect client.

One mistake I see a lot of guest bloggers make is to not consider where they’re trying to get their post published. I get irrelevant guest post offers pretty often, and they get ignored.

Just as you need to be on your best behavior when you’re a guest in someone’s home, you should be giving it your best effort when you’re a guest blogger on someone’s blog.

That’s true and they don’t seem to care how they prepare the post before it goes live/ They only want to get it out there
