I have been blogging for months and it seems like I am not getting anywhere.

I don’t have any comments on my blog posts.

I hardly have 50 visitors per day.

I don’t make any money from my blog.

I am so frustrated right now about this blogging thing… quitting is my next option.

I Give Up... I'm Going To Quit Blogging

The above statements may be used by some persons who stopped blogging.

Sorry if I scared you with that post headline and introduction, but I would never quit blogging. I love blogging too much to give up right now because I am passionate about it. I might not be one of the top bloggers but I certainly will not give up.

“I am going to quit blogging” is a statement made by some people who give up on blogging easily. I am not a quitter, I want to be successful and in order to become a successful blogger then I have to keep on putting in the work.

There is only one place where success comes before work and that is in the dictionary. So if you want to become a successful blogger then you have to put in the hard work to become successful.

Here are some reasons why many people give up on blogging…

[box type=”spacer”]Not Passionate About Blogging[/box]

One thing that true bloggers have that will help them to continue blogging and that is passion.

When you have true passion for blogging then this simply means that you love and enjoying blogging, writing and reading blog posts from other bloggers.

Without passion then you will want to give up on blogging easily. If you haven’t started blogging as yet and you want to become a blogger, then make sure that you start a blog on a topic that you know about and enjoy the different aspects of this topic.

Lack of passion for blogging leads to:

  • Boredom (you come to the conclusion that blogging is boring)
  • You don’t know what to write about
  • You become a content thief
  • Your blog doesn’t get any traffic
  • Your blog doesn’t generate any money
  • If you do get comments, you don’t reply to them

If you really want to make blogging work for you then you have to start your blog on a topic that you have some knowledge about.

For example: Let’s say that you love dogs. You have dogs of your own and know how to teach them tricks. You know how to get your dogs to be obedient and not mess up the house or yard. This is a great foundation that you can lay to start a blog about dogs.

You shouldn’t run off an start a tech blog because you heard that it can generate tons of cash online. Moreover, you weren’t such a techie person and doesn’t even know the difference between megapixel or resolution on your digital camera.

It is always best to start a blog on something that you love. Something that you have knowledge about. And most important, start a blog on something that you love.

Being passionate about your blog’s topic leads to more success. You will always have something to blog about. Blogging will be much easier for you, and when you enjoy what you do then getting traffic to your blog and making money money from your blog will be much easier that you thought.

[box type=”spacer”]Does Not Get Blog Traffic[/box]

Another reason why a person may quit blogging is because they don’t get traffic to their blog.

If your blog fails to get traffic then it proves that it is not all that successful.

If you don’t have any audience to blog to then this will cause some sort of frustration and then quitting would most likely be your next option.

Without traffic coming to a blog then this means no money making process will be taking place. We all know that in order to make money from a blog then traffic is needed to make this happen.

New bloggers are sometimes the first to quit blogging because a lack of incoming traffic to their blog. This is because some new bloggers think that as soon as they launch their blog then traffic is going to come flooding their blog and causing them to make money over night while they sleep.

Most pro bloggers have sleepless nights working on their blog so that they can get the needed traffic which will help them to be successful. Making money over night is not acquired in one night. It make take a few months and even years before some of these pro bloggers make they amount of money that they are making now, so that they can make a living online.

Reasons why some bloggers fail to get traffic to their blog:

  • They don’t do guest blogging
  • They don’t participate in forum posting
  • They don’t do blog commenting
  • They don’t write articles that are optimized for search engine
  • They don’t write high quality articles

In order to get traffic then you need to do blog commenting, guest blogging, forum posting and be sure to optimize your blog posts for search engine results.

[box type=”spacer”]Makes No Money Blogging[/box]

If a blog is not getting much traffic then the money making part of a blog will prove to be unsuccessful.

Hardly you hear that a blog makes over $100 monthly if it gets 10 visitors per day. This is because it is somewhat impossible.

If you want to make money from your blog then traffic is what is needed in order to do so effectively.

Even if a blog has a decent amount of traffic, without proper monetization then this blog will also fail to make money.

Did you get to read my previous article about how to make money from your blog by selling advertisements? In that article I spoke about how I made $90 in one week selling ads on this blog (I know this is not much but this helps me to pay for my hosting and to buy plugins as well to boost this blog).

In order to make a blog that makes money then you have to apply the first point in this post which is being passionate about blogging. Being passionate about the blog topic that you have chosen will set the foundation for you to become a successful blogger.

After that, you have to apply the second point in this post which speaks about getting blog traffic. All successful pro bloggers have a high number of traffic on their blog and this is why they are successful. You have to do what it takes to get traffic and this is what will help you to make the money.

This point that you are now reading about making money can be tricky. You are passionate about blogging, you are successful in driving traffic to your content but then money still isn’t coming.

What you need to do is take a day to analyze your blog and see what you are doing wrong.

If you use Google Adsense as a means to monetize your blog then you need to try different ad units in different location. You should also allow your ads to blend in with your blog theme so that you can maximize your chances of getting more clicks.

If you do affiliate marketing then you should give your readers a reason why they should buy the products that you are recommending. Write great reviews and this will help to generate some sales or leads.

[box]In Conclusion[/box]

Don’t give up on blogging just yet if you are reading this post. There are many ways to get traffic just do what works best for your.

Keep on writing great articles, engage with other bloggers and your blog readers. Participate in blog commenting, guest posting and forum posting as well. Doing these will help you to become successful and will also help you to make money over night.

If you want some tips on how you can become successful then please leave a comment and I will see how best I can help you to become a successful blogger.

It is very easy in the early days to feel this way. The problem is, without seo, the only real way to build traffic to your blog is via other blogs commenting and engaging, blogging networks and such. This kind of traffic does not click on AdSense so i guess affiliate ads are the best option?

    • Reply

      Hey Hayley,

You are right about that. Most of the times the Adsense will go ignored, so it is best to work with affiliate marketing. Plus affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to make money online.

Not being passionate about blogging could definitely hurt you in your content area. The reader can sense it if you don’t enjoy what you are writing about. Good stuff.

Yes – I do agree. Especially with people only starting to blog – They tend to get lost a bit more than the normal person. If you do think about quitting – Don’t! Blogging becomes easier the more you do it. And the more you practise SEO to increase traffic and page rank , the easier it becomes and the more readership you will gain.

    Hello Kharim,

When things do not turn out the way we dream, the first instinct of our mind says that we should give up. Let me remind us of the famous saying, ‘Winners never quit and quitters never win’. I do know that this saying may not hold good in worst of the adversities but giving up on something once you treasured is a heart break. Blogging is an interesting stream for many of us and when we should give our best to the extent possible.Like in any stream, ups and downs are common here too. We need to be on a learning spree and then blogging becomes an art, easily.

Make it simple so that the readers understand it easily. I am sure your blog will be getting a lot of comments as well as visitors everyday. All the best!! I hope your blog just rocks.

Selecting a topic (niche) that you enjoy and have knowledge about will help you to develop an interest in blogging. If you start a blog on a topic that you don’t have much knowledge about then you will begin to strugle as a blogger and then fail to become a top blogger.

In my economics class (and just a tad in accounting) this spring we focused heavily on product differentiation. I see many blogs that can easily fit into the same categories, and basically say the same things… Why they painted the wall this color, what sparked their favorite recipe… The secret and the posts that I really enjoy reading are the ones that are different. I love hearing personal stories that actually apply to the overall idea. Sometimes I like the short answers-a-question… Anyways dunno if this helps from a reader’s perspective but adding to everything you’ve already stated, I’d add try to be a bit different than the next guy.

I must agree with the last part of your comment. Being different from the other guy will help us to not give up on blogging. It will also show how unique we can be and this will also help to generate traffic to your blog.

So true, we hear something like this all time. Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. It takes time. Bloggers are different species of people, slow and steady a bit like the snail who gets there in the end. One really has to have a passion for something and not do it because there is money in it. Money comes later. So to those who are quitting, let them quit, this means less competition. See you on the other side.

You are right about that. If blogging was a get rich quick scheme then tons of other people would be doing it and also I would be a millionaire by now.
